Are you a South African Superhero?

South Africans choosing solar saving the day and eliminating the dreaded Loadshedding?

Are you too a South African SuperHero?

“South African households and businesses have reduced their reliance on Eskom’s electricity and enabled the utility to build up its reserves during the day to prevent load-shedding during the evening peak.

This is feedback from Professor Sampson Mamphweli, the head of energy at the South African National Energy Development Institute.” Article by Shaun Jacobs and posted on the 26 May 2024 in MyBroadband

According to Eskom's latest report, rooftop solar has increased by over 2,000 MW in just one year, reaching 5,490 MW by the end of April. This remarkable achievement has significantly reduced electricity demand, giving Eskom the much-needed breathing space to conduct maintenance and build up reserves to manage the evening peak.

At NuHome Africa we're proud to have played a part in this success story. Our clients, ranging from residential homeowners to apartment complexes, estates, and small to medium-sized businesses, have made a conscious choice to switch to solar power. By doing so, they've not only reduced their carbon footprint but also contributed to alleviating the pressure on Eskom's grid, ultimately helping to minimize loadshedding.

Well done, South Africa 🇿🇦 Let's continue to harness the power of solar energy and work together towards a sustainable future.
